Pledge Against Terrorism

Malappuram:  The mammoth Ramdan prayer congregation in India, organized by Ma’din Academy in connection with 26th night of holy month of Ramdan, concluded here with mass prayer and pledge against terrorism. Thousands of people from different parts of the country as well as foreign countries attended the meet which marked the conclusion of the 30 days Madin Ramadan program.

The gathering also took an oath to promote world peace, foster communal harmony and eschew alcoholism.

Hundreds of thousands of believers got themselves indulged in prayers, seeking forgiveness from God on the eve of the 27th day of Ramdan in anticipation of the Lailathul Qadir or the “night of power,” about which the Koran says that it is better than a thousand months. Relieving themselves from all their troubles, thousands raised their hands in union begging the almighty for a peaceful world and their spiritual emancipation. It was around 3 a.m. on Tuesday when they went home.

The gathering today marks the conclusion of the 30 days Ramadan programme of madin Ramadan prayer and peace conference began with Itikaf session in Ma’din Grand Masjid, followed by Qura’n and Hadith learning sessions, Ramadan special training programs and other recitation Majlis. It was several thousands of people that were fed with the delicious food in the massive community Iftar held at Ma’din academy campus from the beginning of the holy month ramadan.

Sayyid Ibrahim Khaleel Al Bukhari, chairman of Ma’din Academy and founder of the conference delivered the Ramadan message in the meet. He also administered a pledge for the world peace and against terrorism and alcoholism and led the prayer session. He  made the youth aware of  the need for communal harmony and peaceful co-existence upholding the religious and cultural unity in diversity of our country.

“We reaffirm that usurping the rights of fellow-beings is a grave offence to humanity. We honour the dignity of others. Even when we take pride in being a Muslim, we respect and honour all other faiths and their followers. We will keep a continuous vigil against forces that work to destroy the oneness of humanity” – He added.

All India Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama general secretary Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliar inaugurated the meet. Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama president E Sulaiman Usthad presided.

The prayers went into late night as people continued to flow to the Madin grounds. Extensive parking arrangements were made. Over a lakh food packets were distributed for dinner.

This annual conclave has attracted attention from believers across the country and from abroad as well. Delegates from Australia, UK, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Gulf countries attended.

There were 5555 member volunteer wing to control people. Medical, fire and rescue units also helped the smooth functioning of the programme. District administration and police also supported.

The conference is conducted by the Malappuram based educational and charity institute Madin academy which undertakes various nationwide social, educational and charity ventures. Established in 1997, Ma’din Academy runs 30 educational and charity ventures with 20000 students on the role.Along with the educational activities, the academy has different programs to spread the message of interfaith harmony and tolerance. It is one of the main organizers of the International Interfaith Harmony Seminar every year in connection with UN’s harmony initiatives. Ma’din is also part of G20 Interfaith Summit which is scheduled in line with G20 summit in Turkey this year . The academy has so far signed MoUs with various reputed international universities.
